About Michael Owen

At the age of 16, Michael Owen signed for Liverpool as a trainee professional and was a regular in the Liverpool Youth team and finished the season top goal-scorer. On his 17th Birthday, Michael signed for the Liverpool FC senior team and made his senior debut on 6th May 1997 scoring against Wimbledon.

Michael went on to score 179 goals in 306 appearances for the club, but on the 13th August 2004 after a 7 year spell at Liverpool, Michael signed professional terms with Real Madrid. After one season in Madrid, Michael returned to the Premier League when he signed for Newcastle United on the 31st August 2005.

On the 3rd July 2009 Michael signed for Liverpool's main rivals, Manchester United and stayed at Old Trafford for 3 seasons before signing for Stoke City on the 4th September 2012.
